Welcome To Sprouting Chefs!

As a southern Delaware-based company, Sprouting Chefs' mission is to provide culinary instruction and education to children ages 3-12, with an emphasis on fresh, local agriculture. Sprouting Chefs embraces Delaware's hard-working sustainable farms and creative local artisans, in an effort to promote community awareness and gifted craftsmanship.

Sprouting Chefs offers children's cooking classes, summer camps, and birthday party cooking classes, incorporating educational elements such as literacy, music and movement, plant and animal science, and creative art.

Through Sprouting Chefs, class participants will gather knowledge from the following academic areas:

  • Math: fractioning, measuring, multiplying

  • Science: plant growth, biology, and chemistry

  • Language: collaboration/ interaction with peers in class, instructors, farmers, and farmers' market patrons

  • Social Studies: exposure to foods from various ethnic regions, discussion of culinary and sociological practices from various parts of the world
